NHL Pre-Season:
Ryan Vandenbussche vs Terran Sandwith
AHL vuosina...
. The third ended with the
Flames showing how truly classless they are. They sent out their goon
Eric Landry (yes the Flames have a guy by the same name), to run guys
with only a minute left on the clock. When he belted Dogs captain Terran
Sandwith, however, a fight broke out. It was one of the better, more
even fights in a while. Both guys got in some good shots. It was nice
to see that when the thug Landry went off the ice, he was lambasted by
the fans, and pelted with garbage. It shows that the fans are finally
starting to get into the playoff spirit.
At 15:27 the brainless thug Eric Landry (of Saint John) jumped Ralph
Intranuovo. Intranuovo dropped the gloves and was a became a
semi-willing opponent, but was no match for Landry. Captain Terran
Sandwith was desperately trying to jump in but got into a little skirmish
with Ryan Bast as a result.

More of the rough stuff flared up in the 54th minute; Drouin was not happy about Terran Sandwith’s holding and elbowed his way from his attentions. Sandwith then threw a punch at Drouin who had no time to react before Norris joined the fray. Linesman will usually wait until a fight goes to the ice before stepping in, but seeing the punishment that was imminent they stepped in rescue Sandwith. Now, had Rowe set a precedent for the game with his earlier 2+2 roughing calls? No, each player was thrown out with a 5+Game fighting major! Sandwith also picked up 2+2 for roughing, Drouin getting a single minor.
Belfast lost Terran Sandwith on an illegal equipment call - after cross checking Brad Lauer to the ice behind the net, Sandwith lost his helmet as he landed on top of the fallen Steeler, and although referee Carson gave him ample time to replace his helmet, he just picked it up in one hand and continued with the play, and prompting the whistle. No call was made for the cross checking, and the powerplay ran down with little in the way of scoring chances as the buzzer sounded.
Giants defenceman Terran Sandwith was binned for cross checking Chris Lipsett at 23:13, although he could consider himself lucky not to have been called for what looked like spearing on Paul Kruse behind the net shortly before.
Paul Ferone and Sandwith clashed in the 16th minute and again the gloves came off and the two went toe-to-toe for a good 60 seconds. Both landed some big punches with Paul the (marginal) winner on points as both refused to fall to the ice and mutually agreed to call it a day before they burst their lungs. Having had a second fight, Paul was duly ejected while Sandwith sat for 5-minutes.
Manchester Storm forum:
"Sandwith is a cheap shot merchant who got slapped all over the place when he jumped at Paul Ferone to hit him with his elbow, the ref missed it, All I can remember from him is the same as Mike Barrie, A bully, who can't fight but resorts to cheap shots..."
"If he can he should try and get that Terran Sandwith from Belfast, he's a real nasty piece of work but he's good."
