Dear Corey.
I don't mean to distract at this critical period of an incredible playoff run, but then you probably have better things to do than reading posts on this forum. Hope you'll read it later though.
You have played yourself into the hearts of every one of us. We have seen your dedication, your will, your grit, your perseverance. You are a true team player, a leader, the indisputable king of faceoffs, strong on puck protection, you have an excellent shot and you're the only one with the guts and talent to pull off the good ol' Peltonen -maneuver :) I personally believe you are the best two-way center and the best defensive forward in the league, a Frank Selke without contest. You might not score the most points, but you may still be the most important and most valuable player on the team. You are loved, cherished and appreciated.
I hope you and your family enjoy Helsinki and have made it your home. It's safe here, the environment is clean, we've got the best education one can hope for their kids. Meanwhile the US is gravitating toward a police state, and I could easily see why one would not want to go back..
Some years back we had this Canadian guy playing for us. He showed a similar dedication, he was a true team player and we loved him. Darren played a few years for IFK, then he wanted to go try his wings in the NHL. But he came back and ended up staying with us for 11 seasons. At the end he even came to regard himself as half Finnish, learned the language and made friends for life. I sincerely hope you will, too.
Finland has a lot of great things to offer you, your wife and your kids. Please stay.
