Hard …
… Rock Hallelujah.
Hello Finland !
Finland sends the heavy monster rockers Lordi to the European Song Contest semi finals, in what-ever-city-it-is-going-to-be-held-in to defend the Nations honour. And that’s fine with me. Hallelujah to that.
I’ve seen Lordi support Nightwish over here in Sweden ( Gothenburg ) a while ago. And they did it good, melodic - and heavy. Humour and heavy rock’n’roll can’t ever be wrong. Look at Kiss for an example!. By the way, ain’t Lordi’s singer a former president of Finland’s Kiss Army ?
Well, time to get heavy folks. Ever since the Olympic finals Sweden has livin’ a lie ( as always ) over here. The lie is that Sweden ( Tre Kronor ) ruled the game in the Olympics. No way Jose´ !. Sweden played a pretty poor game all over the competition .They sneaked in through a cowardly easy loss against Slovakia – and the win over Switzerland. But Tre Kronor had the mental opportunity over Finland in the final game. That’s the brutal truth.
I will always for the rest of my life hate Sweden’s head coach Bengt-Åke Gustafsson for being such a coward ( and born under such a lucky star ).
Whatever has this ice hockey jive to do with the European Song Contest ya may wonder?
Let me tell you.
It is about time to put records straight. Both in the European Song Contest and the World Championships in Hockey. Finland are rock’n’roll – and Sweden are pop. About time for Finland to show – for the rest of the world - where ever the best music and hockey is played. I’m not worried about the music. Finnish hard rock rules the world nowadays ( Hurriganes seems a VERY long time ago ... ), but Finnish ice hockey has still a while to step that ladder. Everybody in the ( ice hockey ) world knows Finland are good. Bloody very good. You can’t reach two big finals in a short amount of time without the skills to get there. Selänne & Co is a power trio that can’t be matched in todays hockey. But those fuckin’ Finnish nerves, those fuckin’ nerves ( and that Swedish luck ).
In the forthcoming World Championships I’m hoping to see a Finland team who plays fast as a shark in the usual way of Finnish checking game. No back down and mellow for me please.
If you are going to win – win with pride. Not like Juventus ( or Sweden ).
Tony Salmelainen ( HIFK ) will be the sniper of the Latvia-competition, believe my word. After he leaves for Chicago. For a sniper seasn besides Tuomo Ruutu.
If anybody thinx Finland’s hockey is in a poor condition, you’re wrong.
Here in Sweden Jussi Tarvainen and Mikko Luoma of Linköping HC scored the game winning goals at Västra Frölunda ( 2-1 ) yesterday in the Semi finals. And those two chaps are not even considered for the Finland team, aren’t they ?
No they are not. ( But still, Sami Torkki is next to a heavy God ).
By the way, Fredrik Norrena, the goalie of Linköping HC, is a ghost of mine. He’s a bloody good goalie. But not when it comes to play about World Championships he are not.
Congratulations - You have just meet the I.C.F … or not.
