1. “Play or Pay” – if a manager shows no roster moves (benching/dressing players) for 30 days, that team is taken over by the commissioner. This will help ensure that the entire league is guaranteed to stay competitive either by the active managers or the commissioner. Once a team is taken over, the top dropable player from each skater position (C, R, L, D) on that team will be removed from the team and added to the free agency market for the remaining active managers to pick up. This will reward managers for staying active and help prevent a non-active manager’s team from winning the championship.
2. Free Agent Deadline – at the same time the trade deadline occurs, a free agent deadline is put in place as well. This is to promote managers to build their championship team during the regular season, not through frantic adds/drops during the playoffs. Once the deadline comes, managers will no longer be able to add, drop, or trade players. However, managers still choose who plays and who sits on the bench each week.
Please note that this league also uses Weekly Rosters. So use strategy to set your roster for the week. Who plays more games? Who is more likely to do better in their games? Who are you going to put in for the week? Just make sure to have your week’s roster in place before the new week begins each Monday.
