The toughest guy I've ever faced in the minors was Stephen Peat who at the time played for the Calgary Hitman. It was at the end of the season when I decide to fight him because my coach at the time wasn't to fond of me fighting him. Just from his reputation of doing well against guys like Scott Parker, Rocky Thompson. In the future we will probably run into each other, and you will see what I mean when I say he is one tough customer.

Ja sitten tämä juttu, joka minun on pitänyt mainita Peatistä jo aikoja sitten mutta onpahan aina unohtunut. Eli jo aikanaan kun Peat hankittiin Washingtoniin Anaheimista, tämä artikkeli nosti miehen arvoa silmissäni todella paljon ja toivoin, että kaverista kehittyisi NHL-tason peluri:
CUT AND NEARLY KNIFED - Published reports in the Calgary Sun said police witnesses described Beech as an innocent bystander who was approached by three men while at Calgary's Outlaws nightclub with a number of teammates.
"They were just three guys who wanted to start something," said Beech. "And we just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. I don't know whether they recognized me as a Calgary Hitmen player, but I was just sitting there and they tried to goad me into a fight. It was just a random thing. I'm not the type of person to get into anything off the ice; I've never been in a fight in my life. I didn't want any conflicts, but they obviously wanted to do harm to somebody."
This wasn't your garden-variety conflict. Defenseman and team enforcer Stephen Peat, a second-round 1998 Anaheim draft pick later traded to Washington, injected himself into the situation, Beech said, and tried to calm the three men. One of them pulled a knife and stabbed Peat, who was treated at a local hospital but was not seriously hurt.
"I really feel that my life was saved by him," says Beech. "If he wasn't there. . . I don't know if I'd be around today. He took a knife for me. The knife was fairly long. Sometimes I think about what it would have done to me if it had been me. It's scary to think about that kind of stuff."
