Aloitusvuodeksi tuli 58. Rooma ja Parthia ovat sodassa Armenian herruudesta. Euroopassa barbaariheimot tappelevat keskenään ja yrittävät selvitä Rooman valloitusyrityksiltä. Han-dynastialla on suurin osa Kiinaa vallassa. Maailma on jakautunut pieniin heimoihin ja kyläyhteisöihin, jotka eivät ole vielä yhdistyneet valtioiksi.
Peli on Europa Universalis IV ja käytössä on Extended Timeline Mod. Pelaan Observer Modessa, jolloin en vaikuta mitenkään pelin kulkuun. Peliin otetaan mukaan 32 valtiota, joka on pelin määräämä yläraja.
Luo oma valtiosi oheista taulukkoa käyttäen. Huomio, että aloitusvuodesta johtuen uskontovaihtoehtoja on vähemmän. Lisäsin hallintovaihtoehtoihin rajoitukset. Lisäksi poistin pari hallintovaihtoehtoa, joiden ehtoja on mahdoton täyttää tällä aikakaudella.
