Played Junior A Hockey for the St. Paul Vulcans and briefly at the University of Minnesota under the 1980 Olympic Gold Medal USA Hockey coach Herb Brooks. Played 10 years of professional hockey, with teams such as the NHL Detroit Red Wings & Minnesota North Stars, plus, the WHA New England Whalers, Minnesota Fighting Saints & Birmingham Bulls.
Currently lives in Pittsburgh, PA. where he manages the Island Sports Center and coaches AAA travel hockey teams for the Pittsburgh Hornets.
Got his role as Jack Hanson when Jack Carlson could not appear in the movie with his two other real life brothers, Steve and Jeff. Dave was originally scheduled to play Dave "Killer" Carlson."
Upton alias Allan F. Nicholls: "His grandfather was Riley Hern, a goaltender for the Montreal Wanderers. The Wanderers won the Stanley Cup with Hern in goal in 1908, 1909 and 1911. Hern is in the Hockey Hall of Fame."
Lebrun alias Ronald N. Docken: "Professional hockey player in real life. Goaltender for the Johnstown Jets from 1973-1977 (73-74 Eastern Hockey League; 74-77 North American Hockey League). The Jets are the real life team the movie "Slap Shot" is based upon."
Billy Charlebois alias Guido Tenesi: "5th round draft pick of the Pittsburgh Penguins in 1973; also drafted by the Toronto Toros of the WHA that same year (9th round).
7 year minor league veteran (Defenseman), 1973-1980. Played for the Johnstown Jets when "Slapshot" was filmed. Won Governor's Trophy in 1978-79 while playing for the Grand Rapids Owls (League's Best Defenseman).
Has a prominent role in "Slapshot", but never speaks a word.
Played professional hockey in Italy, earned the nickname "Swede" because of his blonde hair."
Bergeron alias Jean Rosario Tetreault: "Played professional hockey from 1972-1978. Drafted by the St. Louis Blues in round 8 #120 overall 1973 NHL Amateur Draft; Vancouver Blazers round 4 #44 overall 1973 WHA Amateur Draft."
Ogilthope alias Ned Dowd: "Brother of "Slap Shot" screenwriter Nancy Dowd. Played professional hockey for 3 seasons, including the 1974-75 Johnstown Jets, the team "Slap Shot" is based upon."
Pam alias Gracie Head: "Hockey wife in the infamous movie Slap-Shot, featuring Paul Newman and directed by George Roy Hill.
Grace's husband Galen, was a high class goal-scorer on the team that Slap Shot (1977) was written about. He has gone on to be an extremly successful high school hockey coach, with 3 Pennsylvania State Chapionships under his belt."

Clarence "Screaming Buffalo" Swampton alias Joe Nolan: ""Indian" Joe Nolan was a minor-league hockey player in the Eastern Hockey League with the Clinton Comets and later with the Johnstown Jets. The Jets were the inspiration for the 1977 movie "Slap Shot" starring Paul Newman where Joe appears as "Clarence 'Screaming Buffalo' Swamptown," the head-dress wearing oldtimer brought in to try and help the Bulldogs defeat the Chiefs in the final game. Indian Joe retired from the EHL and returned to Clinton, New York where he died in the early 1990s."
