Ne joilla on The Athleticin tilaus, kannattaa lukea Tullochin juttu Kapasesta. Sitaatti alusta:
"If you’ve read a recent scouting report on Kasperi Kapanen, you’ll find a lot of comparisons to Carl Hagelin; a complementary winger who can use his speed to get in on the forecheck, disrupt plays on the backcheck and provide some value on the penalty kill. We’ve seen Kapanen check all those boxes over the past two years on the fourth line, but as we saw last night against San Jose, he’s been so much more than that for Toronto this season."
Ja lopusta:
"I always felt like Kapanen would be a valuable complementary player at the NHL level, but he’s been a legitimate difference-maker in 2018-19.
Getting back to the original question, how likely is he to
continue making this kind of an impact? I think it comes down to where he plays in the lineup. If he spends the majority of his minutes with Matthews after he returns from his injury, I wouldn’t be shocked to see Kapanen produce at a 50-point rate (assuming he gets the consistent PP2 time that he deserves, which is another conversation for another day).
If he plays out the rest of the season alongside Kadri on the third line, we’re probably looking at point totals somewhere in the low 40s. My thinking here is that while there’s a drop-off in offensive ability from Matthews to Kadri, more importantly, Toronto’s third line has been getting considerably fewer minutes than the first and second lines this season."
