Nyt se sitten on varmaa, voimme kaikki hengähtää... Tässä englanninkielinen käännös Vostrakin haastattelusta. Tämän lähetti minulle henk.koht. David Schlegel, chiefredactor of

Pavel Vostrak will continue in Finland
Another player who trains himself in Pilsen for another hockey season is
Pavel Vostrak, a right winger who came to Pilsen after 96/97 season from
Karlovy Vary. Vlasim born player used to play also in Vlasim, Kladno and
Melnik. Now he plays in Finnish league in Jyvaskyla. The most productive
player of Keramika in 2000/01 season, where he got 48 points, went during
the last season to Finland. In 19 games he scored 5 goals and added 4
assists.
Before he left he played in 35 games where he got 19 points. In Finland
he played with Martin Cech who also comes from Plzen, Tomas Chlubna (he
used to play in Karlovy Vary), Petr Ton (he used to play in Kladno),
Angel Nikolov (comes from Litvinov). "It was very fast for me. I had to
do many formalities," Vostrak reminds. "The biggest problem was that
I
had a flight on Monday and I should play on Tuasday. You know, we played
on Jokerit and it is not an average game. So I try to arrange everything
on Monday, I took my hockey stuff, had another flight on Tuesday morning
on embassy to Sweden because of working permission. Everything worked out
and I could play in the evening. I join the team at the moment when the
players went on the pregame exercise... That was a really big jump," he
said. His first game ended up by scoreless tie. "Decision did not came
even in overtime where I had two good chances. I did not use them. not
consider this, it was an alright game for me." Vostrak spread out the
Czechny on the team. Among his teammates were Tomas Chlubna, Martin Cech,
Petr Ton and Angel Nikolov. "In the beginning, the roster changed a lot.
Many plazers were injured and the coaches had to change the lines a lot.
When the ill guys become healthy, I played with two Finns and I liked it
that way. They are more like tough guys so they were able to make a lot
of space for me."
The change of enviroment, recognizing a new mentality of new people, this
also belongs to the hockey career. "I got lot of help from Martin Cech. I
lived in his home for first 14 days which made it much easierr for me.
Big thanks for "Cenda"," said. During hius stay, Vostrak made
himself to
become a player who plays regularly power-plays. "I played every
power-play as a defender at the blue line. That was very pleasant for me.
I hope the club was also satisfied because we arranged the prolongation
of the contract." Two his linemates speaks by diffent language, so he
needed to communicate with them in some way. "I can speak some English. I
got big help from Petr Ton and Cenda (martin Cech), so when it was needed
the found the way." Vostrak also tried to discuss the differences between
Czech and Finnish league. "The difference is, that Finns fly during the
whole game, up and down. In Czech league the players are smarter, they
play more with their head. Dont run for the puck when it comes to you
anyway... We in Czech wait more for a mistake of our opponent, in Finland
the attacker tries more to force an opponent mistake."
In following season the Czech colony willbe smaller. Martin Cech is
leaving. "Not only Cenda, also Petr Ton should leave. Only three of us
will stay. One possibility was a income of Michal Straka but he picked up
CSKA Moscow. There is a chance someone will come but I really dont know."
"We all former Pilsen guys prepare here together (Milan Kraft,Pittsburgh,
Petr korinek, Zvolen, ) and we really like it here, It is again little
bit different. I leave Pilsen on July 15. I should be met in Jyvaskyla by
a new coach. The coach in 2001/02 was very good so I am little bit afraid
what will come. But hockey is the same everywhere."
Yours Sincerely, David Schlegel
