Jokinen injured
It's truly amazing Olli Jokinen played Friday night. During a violent collision with assistant coach George Kingston at the morning skate, the knob of Kingston's stick entered Jokinen's mouth while he was flying by at full speed.
He completely sheered off his front teeth, broke and slanted a bone on one side of his mouth and needed 40 stitches to close a cut on the other side.
"His mouth is a total mess," General Manager Chuck Fletcher said.
After screaming, Jokinen sprinted off the ice with a trail of blood following him. Even though it was the start of a drill, Keenan shut practice down. Jokinen wore a mouthguard in the game and scored the Panthers' only goal. ...
