Craig Custance huhuilee The Athleticin jutussaan Bernierin olevan vahva ehdokas Red Wingsiin.
— The Red Wings have been aggressive in their pursuit of a backup goalie behind Jimmy Howard, and it appears they’re closing in on a favorite. Jonathan Bernier has moved to the top of the list in Detroit and there has been significant interest on both sides of the equation. Wherever he signs, Hutton is expected to get a three-year deal, and it would be surprising if Bernier got anything less than that. Bernier is still just 29 and has a career save percentage of .914, a shade lower than Howard’s .915. Howard is entering the final year of his contract, and a Bernier signing would give the Red Wings options moving forward if they want to deal Howard at some point or part ways with the longtime Red Wings starter. Detroit has also been told that 6-foot-6 Jared Coreau is moving on to another opportunity.
Buffalo on vahva mutta ei ainoa ehdokas Huttonille:
According to an NHL source, Hutton visited Buffalo on Wednesday and has narrowed his options down considerably from the double-digit number of teams that reached out to him. That he was in Buffalo is a sign of how interested he is in that possibility.
Ainakin kymmenen joukkuetta on kysellyt Grabneria (Rangers ei ilmeisesti joukossa), ja Kempny on vissiin rajannut vaihtoehtonsa Capsiin ja johonkin toiseen jengiin.
A decision should be made soon on this front, with the list narrowed down to the Capitals and one other team.
Dreger puolestaan on jutellut radiossa, että Pens saattaisi vielä treidata Tristan Jarryn muualle.
“I had someone tell me yesterday that maybe – maybe – they’d consider trading Tristan Jarry. The only reason they would be because someone is in a full panic mode. Like the Islanders need a goaltender, the Hurricanes need a goaltender. Tristan Jarry is going to be a good goaltender, he’s just not going to get that starting opportunity, I don’t think, with Matt Murray in Pittsburgh.
