Officials in key battleground states are expecting to update election results today. Here’s what to watch for:
In Georgia, where the gap between former Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. and President Trump has been narrowing as vote-counting proceeds, Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger was expected to give an update on the tallying at 10:30 a.m. Eastern time.
Fulton County, which is home to most of Atlanta and is the state’s most populous county, will also give an elections update at 11 a.m. Eastern time.
In a television interview, Mr. Raffensperger vowed that the county’s vote-counting would be completed on Thursday morning. Election officials have said more than 50,000 votes, most of them mail-in absentee ballots, had yet to be counted.
In Nevada, where Mr. Biden leads by about 8,000 votes among ballots counted thus far, the Trump campaign said it would make a “major announcement” at a news conference in Las Vegas, at around 11:30 a.m. Eastern.
Officials in Nevada said they would provide an update at noon Eastern. Clark County, which includes Las Vegas, said it would release new vote totals at that time.
In Arizona, where Mr. Biden has held a steady but slightly narrowing lead in counting thus far, officials in the state’s largest county, Maricopa, plan to give their next update at 9 p.m. Eastern.
Pennsylvania, which has the largest number of electoral votes among states that have not yet been called, was also expected to provide updates on Thursday morning. But state officials there have warned that the counting could continue for days as workers processed a backlog of absentee and mail-in votes.
