Colorado Avalanche forward Milan Hejduk pleaded guilty Tuesday to a charge of careless driving in an alleged drunken-driving case.
Under a deal with prosecutors, a charge of driving while ability impaired will be dismissed if Hejduk stays out of trouble for two years, district attorney's spokesman Mike Knight said.
Hejduk, 25, one of Colorado's top scorers in the regular season and playoffs, was arrested early May 10 after an Englewood police officer stopped him on a suburban street south of Denver.
Police said Hejduk was driving 70 mph in a 45 mph zone, and his blood-alcohol level was measured at 0.056. Under Colorado law, a person's ability is considered impaired at 0.05, while a blood-alcohol level of 0.10 carries a driving under the influence charge.
Although Hejduk was not legally intoxicated, he failed a roadside sobriety test and police can consider other factors when applying charges.
The arrest came hours after Colorado defeated the Los Angeles Kings in Game 7 of the Western Conference semifinals. It did not become public until May 24, two days before the Avalanche opened the Stanley Cup finals against the New Jersey Devils.

Humehiako pojat on vetäny? ;)
